Parent Communication

I believe in involving parents in every aspect of the school year! Below are a few practices I believe in, in regards to parent communication:
  1. Positive communication is essential; I strive for my first communication with a parent to always be positive! This is especially important when you suspect you may need to contact them with concerns as the year progresses; always start off on the right foot!
  2. Parents should be updated weekly on what learning is going on in the classroom. I do this through weekly newsletters; below you can see examples of newsletters I have sent home this year.
  3. Parents should always be given the opportunity to be in the classroom. It is meaningful to students to see their parents in their school environment.  I use www.signupgenius.com to organize parent volunteers!
  4. Parents are teachers too - in order for a child to reach his or her full potential, parents and teachers must work together as a team.
